EF Internship Program
Preparation for the experience ahead
A portion of your class time will be devoted to practicing your professional language skills, and by learning CV writing and interviewing techniques. You’ll also meet with your EF school’s onsite EF Internship Coordinator at to discuss what type of industry or work sector you’re interested in.
During your internship
Perfect your new language skills by working in a part-time, unpaid position at a company or organization related to your professional field of interest. This way you’ll develop industry-specific language skills and gain valuable international work experience for your career. At the conclusion of the program, you’ll receive the EF Internship Certificate so you can add it to your CV.
Eligibility
An internship is already included in your EF Advanced Diploma program. But you can add an internship option to any EF Academic Year Abroad program in Canada, UK, Ireland, Malta, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain, Ecuador and Costa Rica (depending on your visa status).
EF Volunteer Experience in the USA
In America, you can enhance your EF Academic Year Abroad with volunteer work experience in a professional setting. First you’ll improve your language skills and learn resume-writing and interviewing techniques at our school. Once you’ve completed your course, we’ll place you with a company or organization where you can volunteer part-time in an unpaid position. It’s the perfect way to develop industry-specific language skills and gain experience in an international environment. Available at all EF schools in the USA.
EF Volunteer Experience in Ecuador and Costa Rica
In Ecuador and Costa Rica, you’ll have the option of volunteering for a humanitarian or environmental project during your Spanish language course at our school. EF Quito and EF Playa Tamarindo collaborate with several local non-profit organizations. Choose from childcare and education projects to animal habitat preservation and reforestation programs. You’ll practice your language skills and, at the same time, make a real difference.
EF Internship Plus Program
If you’re looking for a more intensive international work experience, consider our EF Internship Plus Program. After a semester of language study at our school, you’ll begin a 3-month internship in an industry or work field of interest to you. Available in London, Brighton, Manchester, Vancouver, Sydney and Auckland.
