English test scores and levels are difficult to compare between tests and leveling systems because each one is so unique. The table below gives you a rough idea of how a score range on one test or level system would translate to another. Officially, there is no way to convert one test score to another or a test score to a level system, so if you need an IELTS score of 8.5 for example, you will have to take the IELTS. If you take two different tests, you may find that you do better on one than the other, even though your English skills haven't changed. This is due to many factors including test design, testing conditions, and quite simply, luck.
